PHILIPPINES – Global Impact’s weekly advocacy program on radio and on the internet raised awareness on the various concerns of the education sector as schools open for the new academic year. Government agencies regulating basic and higher education institutions guested on the program as resource persons to provide accurate and relevant information as well as to respond to the stakeholders’ questions.

Philippine education system had dramatic changes as pandemic hit, significantly affecting children and families, particularly with the blended learning modality (online and modular), majority of learners use the internet to access their lessons and attend virtual classes. With this online exposure, there have been significant increase in cases of online sexual exploitation of children (OSEC), thus the intensified campaign for internet safety among learners and awareness campaign among the communities to prevent such abuse and exploitation.
