PHILIPPINES – The United Nations has declared September 21 as the International Day of Peace.
On said day, Global Impact’s special episode of its weekly advocacy radio and livestream program featured peace advocates and partners Col. Gerry Besana of the Armed Forces of the Philippines Central Visayas Command, and Atty. Sittie Rahana Jhan Ganda of the National Commission of Muslim Filipinos – Lanao Office.
The said summit was supported by the Provincial Inter-Agency Council on Ending Local Communist Armed Conflict (IAC-ELCAC) with the military, police, and other relevant government agencies. Mandated through the President’s Executive Order 70, ELCAC pushes for the stop and prevention of recruitment of child soldiers – a form of child trafficking.
