Davao, Philippines – Global Impact Phils Foundation Inc joins fifty-five (55) other civil society organizations, government agencies, private companies and individuals in celebrating the 2017 Peace Month (September), which kicked-off through a Training on Mental Health and Psychosocial Training for Peace Partners which was organized by the National Commission on Muslim Filipinos. Said training was set in the context of the ongoing displacement of Marawi residents due to the siege. Global Impact’s Disaster Relief Team attended said training.
Atty. Sittie Rahana Ganda, an officer of the National Commission on Muslim Filipinos, one of the prime-movers of the Davao Peace Council and also an IDP herself, presenting the plight of IDPs during the Symposium.
A major highlight was the Peace Fair held on September 21, 2017 in accordance to the United Nations – declared International Day of Peace. All 55 members of the Davao Peace Network participated in a day-long fair of talents, advocacies and merchandises at a high-end mall in the city, with the common goal of raising support for the IDPs.
