Central Mindanao, Philippines – Freedom!Philippines which is Global Impact’s advocacy campaign to fight human trafficking has extended beyond the Davao Region through invitations from NGO partners and the Philippine Military.

Last November 9, 2017, human trafficking awareness campaign was done to about one thousand students, parents, community leaders and teachers of the Sharif Awliya Academy in the municipality of Datu Odin Sinsuat, Maguindanao – a province of the Autonomous Region of Muslim Mindanao (ARMM). 

Flyers written in Filipino language with information about how to report, hotlines, forms of human trafficking and how to be safe from traffickers were given to everyone. These flyers have been found to be effective and have saved people from being trafficked.

Creative presentations like short drama increases young audience’s understanding of the human trafficking awareness message.

Freedom!Philippines as a best practice in disaster risk reduction management in Mindanao

Also, last November 25, 2017, Freedom!Philippines program was presented to a group of 300 local government officials, business groups, NGOs, academe, the security forces and other stakeholders of the Central Mindanao region as a best practice in disaster risk reduction and management, considering that people are doubly vulnerable in times of disaster.
