God’s love shared through serving over 20,000 meals in Marawi evacuation sites!

In May and June of this year, the Global Impact Phils Foundation, in partnership with 1197 DXFE and NCMF, in coordination with the local government of Marawi City, and with volunteers from Church So Blessed – Iligan City, served 20,730 hot meals to a total of 681 families that have been displaced from their homes because they had to flee during the Marawi City siege that happened in May 2017.

Called “Share the Blessing”, the project provided the families hot meals of steamed rice, fish, vegetables, meat and fruits for ten (10) days which significantly impacted the evacuees’ lives who have been dependent on relief packs of instant noodles and canned sardines for more than a year already.

Such initiative was the first of its kind in the evacuation camps and is a component of the continuing relief and psychosocial assistance of the Foundation to the evacuees who have lost homes, businesses and properties, thus making them doubly vulnerable to exploitations such as human trafficking.
