PHILIPPINES: GLOBAL IMPACT SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM EXPANDS

Licensed professional teachers, registered nurse, IT professional and many others are among the success stories coming from Global Impact’s Scholarship Program. Our Education Scholarship Program has had significant impact for 15 years now, combatting poverty and changing the futures of our scholars as well as their families and communities!

These are comments from past scholar recipients – some who graduated over a decade ago! This school year, we have 25 Filipino scholars – 12 in university,

2 in high school and 11 in junior high and elementary grades, as well as all our Ukraine scholars from our Living Pearl children’s home. In total, Global Impact has close to 60 scholars this year.

This program, funded by donors like you, provides holistic support to selected students who are very deserving, showing wonderful potential but do not have the financial means to access the education they need.

We hope you’ll watch the video below and consider being a part of helping to fund the dreams and goals of the next generation!

PHILIPPINES: STRESS AND RESILIENCE TRAINING

Resource speaker, Pastor Amy, delivered a compelling training earlier this month at a Mental Health Seminar held on campus at University of Mindanao (UM) for their college staff that included the School Director, Deans, Professors, Program Heads and Discipline Chair.

The first session enlightened them to befriend their nervous system and be aware how often it is in an unconscious protective ‘threat response’ state to the many stress triggers in daily life which can lead to being both ‘stressed out’ and ‘burned out.’

More than 40 participants departed with valuable insights and practical tools that they can implement in their daily work and personal lives, empowering them to lead more resilient lives.

Second, the participants were empowered to achieve ‘relaxed vigilance’ in the ‘zone of resilience’ while actively meeting deadlines and dealing with challenges.

Third, she provided tools to face daily life with vulnerability, awareness and healthy emotional, mental, spiritual, and physical skills that foster strength, growth and resiliency. One participant stated “Ps Amy is a very good speaker. There is so much to learn from her, and we can really relate to the topics, which truly reflects the usual struggles of an employee.

This successful event was a privilege for the Global Impact team to have brought impact to one of Mindanao’s leading academic institutions.

Special thanks to past graduate of our Scholarship Program, Jesa Alcantara, UM Bansalan Guidance Facilitator, who was instrumental in the organizing of this training.

UKRAINE: FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL FOR LIVING PEARL KIDS

The beginning of a new school year is filled with excitement, anticipation and hope! However, with increasing costs, this year also felt a bit challenging when we looked at the budget.

With all the back to school preparations finalized, the kids at Living Pearl are embracing the start of a bright year full of learning and growing!

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who contributed to making this school year a reality for our kids!

We are incredibly grateful.

UKRAINE: FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL FOR LIVING PEARL KIDS

Providing a sense of normalcy and moments of happiness defies the bleak circumstances of war for both adults and children.

Our partner church in Dnipro was able to do just that for the children that attend the church’s kids club! Seeing the children playing games, enjoying pizza and treats, and experiencing the carefree joy of being a kid was truly wonderful – made possible because of the generosity of our donors!

On top of that, your donations provided this church with funds to pay their rent for the month, purchase fuel for generators to run during daily power outages and provided diapers, backpacks and school supplies to children in need.
