ENCOURAGING, APPRECIATING AND SUPPORTING PASTORS

Nearly 250 pastors and leaders from over 15 churches gathered in Iloilo City in early October for the ‘My Heart Beats For Mission’ conference, featuring guest speakers Pastor Amy Muranko and Pastor Steven Wee of Singapore.

Pastor Amy’s messages, “God You Always Have My Yes” and “Resiliency In Mission” provided insights and answers to the challenges pastors and missions workers continually face in ministry such as defining “compassion fatigue” and how to resolve it with spiritual and emotional processing into “compassion satisfaction”. This message deeply resonated and encouraged all in attendance. Our Global Impact team members Marydith Desabelle and Jorgen Jordan also served by praying for participants at the end of each service.

WHAT IS GOD CALLING YOU TO DO IN THE ‘NOW’ OF YOUR LIFE?

Ps. Amy served as a guest preacher at Church So Blessed Angeles City earlier this year. Her compelling message ‘God you always have my YES” truly resonated with everyone (LEFT). Analiza and the Global Impact worship team led praise & worship at Church So Blessed (RIGHT).

She also made the point that its not just one decision to say yes, but in fact a journey of continual ‘yeses’. A poignant part of the teaching came when Pastor Amy shared her own testimony of yes to God, and many of the successes. However, not everything was successful and in fact some of it heartbreaking and disappointing. She recounted that, when we say yes we have an underlying faith expectation of the fruitful future result, which is appropriate and right, however if down the road some things don’t go as hoped it can lead to questioning both God and our past decisions. Pastor Amy shared her own wrestling with this and how God ministered to her heart that fruit was less important than obedience, and that what matters in the end is we say yes to God no matter the result.

Let’s all take this message to heart! What is God calling you to do in the now of your life? Together, let’s commit to saying YES and continue stepping boldly into our purpose. The journey may be challenging, but with faith, we can achieve amazing things!

CHANGING LIVES ONE SMILE AT A TIME

PHILIPPINES – Project Davao Smiles, a two-day dental mission in Davao City was conducted last month by Global Impact in collaboration with local partners to honor the 32nd National Children’s Month.

This initiative provided quality dental care to nearly 100 economically challenged children and adults, along with educational and fun activities.

Patients received dental kits, enjoyed ice cream, and received stuffed toys. Educational talks on child exploitation prevention and social media safety were also held.

Spiritual care was offered with Bibles being distributed and coffee and snacks were provided as well. The collaboration improved oral health and empowered families, leaving a positive impact on the Davao community.

1,000 DAYS OF WAR IN UKRAINE

A message from our Living Pearl Co-founder, Pastor Sasha

November 19, 2024: “Today marks 1000 days as the war in Ukraine continues. The days are filled with pain, losses and struggles. We hear the whistle of rockets over our heads, we feel the rumble of explosions, we see the terrible consequences of war – the death of children, our relatives, friends.

But even in the darkest moments, we do not lose hope and faith in victory.

Today with the smallest of our pearls – we visited the Alley of Memory of fallen soldiers. There they reflected on the story of their Living Pearl brother, the hero, Dima (pictured right). He gave His life so that we may live, and dream of a peaceful future.

His example of courage and sacrifice is our reminder that the fight lasts not only for the territory, but for the life, freedom and dignity of every Ukrainian. We remember our heroes. We honor their sacrifice. And we believe that victory awaits us.” – Pastor Sasha (LP Co-Founder)
