Modern day slavery or human trafficking is the sale of men, women, and children for forced labor, sexual exploitation, forced marriage, domestic servitude, child soldiering and illegal organ trade. It is a multibillion dollar criminal business that is impacting over 50 million individuals worldwide of which 12 million are children. The prevalence of human trafficking has increased significantly over the last decade and traffickers profit annually an estimated $236 billion according to the International Labour Organization (ILO).

Global Impact is a recipient of the prestigious National Break All Chains Award for its Awareness and Prevention initiatives in the fight against human trafficking in the Philippines, and of the Outstanding NGO Award by the Regional Anti-Human Trafficking Task Force of the Philippine Department of Justice in recognition of its vital role in catalyzing significant advocacy milestones.
