What We Know

Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, which began in February 2022, has now stretched into its third year. As a result, over 10 million people have been driven from their homes in search of safety. Among them, 3.7 million are internally displaced, seeking refuge in other regions of Ukraine, while 7 million have fled to other countries, resulting in the largest refugee crisis in Europe since World War II.

Ongoing attacks on civilian infrastructure and widespread economic hardship have fueled a growing humanitarian crisis.

Women and children make up 76 percent of refugees and are at risk of violence, sexual exploitation and abuse. People have lost their homes, jobs, schools and loved ones. They need our support and cannot be forgotten.

Ukraine Special Edition Broadcast

Global Impact has been working in Ukraine for over 20 years. It’s heartbreaking to see what is happening in the country and to families all across the country. Women and children are fleeing across borders, forced to leave their husbands and fathers behind to defend their land from the aggressors.

Where Are They

Living Pearl Children’s Home – where abandoned and neglected children finally find a loving sanctuary – was suddenly thrown into turmoil when Russia invaded Ukraine in early 2022. Throughout all the chaos – including an evacuation of our kids and orphanage staff – we have strived to protect the children from the hardships of war.

Your donations to our Ukraine Emergency Fund ensured safety for our kids by converting the existing orphanage cellar into a fully equipped bomb shelter. Additionally, a van was purchased to facilitate swift transportation of relief items and to ensure prompt evacuation if needed in the future.

What They Need

Partnering with Ukrainian churches, help has been extended to internally displaced refugees, offering critical supplies such as groceries, diapers, baby formula, blankets, generators, and fuel. For refugees who have experienced unimaginable uncertainty, anguish, and loss, your donations provide comfort and support.

Your prayers and support have meant the world enabling us to help those in extreme need during the chaos of war. Please pray for the children and staff to remain safe at Living Pearl and for peace to prevail in Ukraine.
